Lux Demo - been out for nearly 2 weeks!
It's now been just over a week since the demo came out! I thought I'd take this time to update everyone on what the rest of this year looks like, as well as our plans for next year! We are currently at 96 downloads!!! Which is SO incredibly exciting, and I'm so thankful to everyone who helped that happen.
A lot of the bugs that were in the initial release have been cleared up, but some of the major ones are going to be held off for next year (namely, you can't die twice and some of the window size issues.) It should now run pretty smoothly - so thankyou to everyone who played it when it was more buggy!
Apart from me (Emily, the team leader), the rest of our team are off on break for Christmas. I want to thank all of them for all of their hard work to get the demo to where it is! They are absolutely amazing and I can't do anything without them.
This just means that the changes for the rest of the year will be minor!
Here's what this year looks like:
1. I'm hoping to get a mac version working this year for those who want to play on mac! I'll keep you all updated on whether or not that will be possible. Hopefully it'll be a little Christmas present for everyone!
2. I'm currently creating sketches and plans for level 2. This includes all the new areas and ideas that may or may not make it into the final work.
Here's a little sneak peak of what that looks like....
3. Fixing any bugs that pop up that I have the ability to fix (with my basic coding knowledge).
4. Potentially setting up the steam page to be ready to upload for next year.
The plans for next year include:
1. Adding all of the features that we didn't in the demo! There's a general list of these on the demo page - I'm so so excited to show everyone the lawn club especially! And all of our new little jokes and mini games in the first level.
2. Starting work on the second level! The art team and the coder will be in overdrive making the next level work.
3. Releasing the first chapter as a purchasable and playable game!
I also wanted to say a special shoutout to the College of Inspiration who streamed Lux to their audience. I was so incredibly proud watching others play the game, and they were so kind and affirming. You can find them here: https://www.twitch.tv/thecollegeofinspiration
They are amazing, and some of our biggest supporters! It has been so lovely trading audiences with you guys!
Thankyou so much for all of your support this year, and here's to a full game!
